The annual Warrenpoint Historical Group Magazine will be in the usual newsagent’s outlets this week end. In this year’s edition there is a tribute to the late Matt Doran who lived Dock Street for many years, the Warrenpoint musical maestro passed away in 1955. The former editor of the Warrenpoint Historical Group Magazine, Mrs. Patsy Murray, recalls some very interesting moments in her career in education, it is almost a case of Gamekeeper turned Poacher? There is an insight into the first meeting of the Warrenpoint Historical Group in back in 1972/73, and the story of the Carlingford Lough ghost ship, the doomed ‘Lord Blaney’ by Mr. Jack Crawford. The late Mr. Billy McComiskey from East Street is fondly remembered in words and pictures. The history of Kilbroney Park and Rostrevor’s Titanic connection is well aired by Robert Linden.

Wish they would sell it online for those of us who can't get there to buy one, I am sure it would be ever so popular.

Thanks to Kieran I now have a copy and am enjoying reading it to my mum. :-):-) :thank you:

Hi Brian

Would it be possible to scan to PDF not only the current edition but previous ones? I for one would be happy to pay via PayPal for the current issue (and previous ones if available), and it could provide a revenue stream for the Historical Group.

Regards
Jim

I'll bring that up when the next meetings are held - it's something that could be done I suppose, it just depends on the time it would take to do it. Maybe the group could offer a mail order service as well? worth thinking about.
