John Major visit 1991 and Iraq War comments

Came across this on John Major`s website with relates to his answers to the press regarding the preparations for the 1st. Iraq War at that time. As I am sure many will recall, he had made contact with the US president using a phone up at the Typerite factory and during this call it is believed that the final preparations / agreement to proceed with the war was made.

I recall reading in the local press afterwards that despite the presence of the national and international press / media, our local reporters / photographers were well looked after and were given special treatment.

The Barlow's still have the phone in a glass case up at the new factory. They call it the phone that launched the Iraqi war!
