Municipal Park 6th April 2017

#1 Post by Brian » Thu Apr 06, 2017 2:44 pm

Nothing particularly special about these photos save for the fact that later this year (all going to plan) the park will be receiving a makeover so I felt it was the right time to take a selection of photos of the park as it was today. It was dull and not a lot of people about so it was a good time to take them.

Hi Brian, Pictures look great. Bandstand a mess, the rest of the park appears well kept. What changes are anticipated??

I have to agree with the other comments, the bandstand needs a face-lift before the Summer season starts. It's a shame that part of the town's history should be allowed to fall into such neglect.

Brian - nice photos.

The Park itself seems to be in
good shape.

The Bandstand of course needs to be
upgraded.

There's a major renovation of the park about to take place following a Lottery Grant, I believe. Has anyone seen the plans?

On another note Mrs S and I were walking up through the park the other day and there was a wedding ensemble in getting photos taken at the bandstand. I wondered why they were taking photos at such an unkempt location - the bandstand truly is in a bad way. Maybe the happy snapper is a master of Photoshop?

Yes it starts in September probably why not much is being done although I believe it is to get a quick lick of paint before the summer. I have also seen the plans (not difficult as I am on the steering committee) but for the life of me I can't find them on the public portal or any of the usual places - I'll be at a meeting on Monday so I'll ask for a set and post them here. I don't know why I can't find them as they were on public display during the consultation period and I could have sworn I posted some here as well ~x(
