Count all the ones that you remember, not the ones you were told about.. Ratings at the bottom.

1. Sweet cigarettes
2. Coffee shops with juke boxes
3 . Home milk delivery in glass bottles
4. Party lines on the telephone
5. Newsreels before the movie
6. TV test patterns that came on at night after the last show and were there until TV shows started again in the morning.. (There were only 2 channels [if you were fortunate])
7. Peashooters
8. 33 rpm records
9. 45 RPM records
10.78 RPM records
11. Hi-fi's
12. Metal ice trays with levers
13. Blue flashbulb
14. Cork popguns
15. Wash tub wringers

If you remembered 0-3 = You’re still young
If you remembered 3-6 = You are getting older
If you remembered 7-11 = Don't tell your age
If you remembered 12-15 = You're positively ancient!

I remember them ALL, and could add a bunch more, --- cap guns with rolls of paper caps, Davey Crockett hats, chewing gum machines mounted outside shops, (every 4th penny got a free gum.) Black and white poles with a big orange light on top, at "Zebra" crossiings. Puff Candy, leaving your bike outside at night,(and having it still there in the morning) Getting CASH at the dole counter, and on, and on we go.

What comes after "ancient"? I accompanied my uncle on his horse and trap milk round in the Point before the advent of milk bottles, when we supplied it every morning straight from the keg into jugs or bowls or anything that people brought out of their houses, using measures which we carried round with us. `No "weights and measures" or pasteurisation in those days, but nobody seemed any the worse! ( Except for TB, that is!) Mind you, the landward boundary of the Point at that time was the back road!! The milk was cooled overnight by being dug into the bed of the Moygannon River - no fridges at that time.

I remember 12 that must mean I'm an antique!! We still have our milk delivered in glass bottles!! One thing I do remember is Red Flannel. It was deemed to be good for chesty coughs :cold_flu: It had other uses of course, but I won't get into that!!

Hi XP It takes lot of brain racking to go back so far in time, especially if it means dating yourself. You are in the fossil club now like many who responded.

What about waiting for the dot to disappear on the telly when you switched it off? Who remembers the channel numbers for BBC (1), UTV (9) and RTE (7). And later having to switch between 405 lines and 625?
