Well done Bernie on getting the slides. Northbrook said the man in the back looked like Danny Hourican - it could well be as I thought it had a resemblance to Brendy R.I.P. The man standing has a look of Jimmy Caulfield who was the local attendance officer.

Not sure that it's Jimmy Caulfield Meeting Street ;--) .... I always recall Uncle Jimmy as being a lot more gaunt in appearance -even in earlier photographs of him that I have seen - but there is a resemblance to the Caulfield's alright ( the nose is usually a dead give away :D )

I'm assuming this photo was taken in the stable area behind/beside Hourican's bar ( the arched entry way from the street led through a stable area years ago....and is now the entrance to the nightclub in the Marine) ..... I would guess then that the people in the photo would be more directly related to the Hourican family.... would there be any of the Doran's in the photo ??? ;--)

Btq I will certainly try if you want me to, but can`t see me doing any better than Pat, (were there others ?)...........the emulsion appears to be worn thin on the plate leaving it impossible to get a quality pic although what is there gives us a lot of information anyhow................the wavy effect seems to be a Moire pattern produced sometimes by scanners, it can be reduced by a filter or sometimes by increasing the DPI but unfortunately the filter also softens the focus ..............................
maybe someone else more technically minded can help with this one................Calling ec1968 .......................

Do you know for certain that that is Miss Lena at the wheel ? ...............................................

I have the copy of this photograph. It is Danny Hourican sitting in the back of the car. This possibly be prior to his marriage in 1928. I think it was more likely to be the family car rather than Sonny's as he would have been younger than my grandfather.
