Been a while lads, here is my latest enterprise, I don't have 'gold fever' by any means, just living the dream, My ranch in Redding Ca is slap dab in the middle of gold country, 49ers, etc. so I grabbed a few claims and am heading out to try some sniping and panning, no hard rock mining like you see in the westerns, placer gold only. I drive to trail head, then horse and pack mule about 2 hours to claim. Set up camp, and away we go. Mother lode or not, it's all about the experience, and add to the list of rides in my one man Wild West theme park. Wish me luck.

Thanks for the well wishes you three, (keep an eye on your mailbox in a couple of months) The snow-pack is very thick this year, so we are looking at June to get to the mine outside Callahan, Scott valley, if you care to look up the history.

Murphy - I enjoyed that and would love to have
seen the whole thing.
I wonder how I missed that.
Maybe hockey was on at the time.
How old would that be, because some of
the people mentioned have since died.

Your'e right there XP, Don Adams was there (agent Maxwell Smart) Do you remember that show?
Well he was very frail and died shortly afterwards, some paparazzi got into the hotel lounge and were harassing him and he became very confused and bewildered, Don Johnson myself and Ratz tackled them to leave the guy alone and I had the pleasure of 'escorting' them from the building, as nobody wanted to take my picture.

I would have taken your picture Yimmy, infact I have a few snaps :photo: here in my photo album that if it was not for the 'Point forum police, I would post on this thread, the forementioned snaps would cause quite a stir around the town and a fair ould ruckus around the Redding vicinity as well, your'e a very lucky boy. :stirpot:

OK Yimmy, I'll say nothing for a long time, then I'll say nothing.

Went down to Tecate, Mexico last week, the brewery of the beer by the same name"Tecate" is of course situated in this dusty border town.
On the U.S. side, tucked away in the middle of nowhere is an old western train museum, once in a while an old train does make the run, but because of some mechanical difficulties at the moment, the service has been suspended, when it runs, it is the only active train service between the 2,000 mile U.S. / Mexico border.
Tecate is about an hour east of San Diego in a very mountainous area, nice little town, small town square with musicians roaming around, great restaurants, not too many bars, the couple we did go into are like memorials to our old friend Pancho Villa, I'm sure you and JH and a few of the old 'Point cowpokes know a bit of Pancho's back-ground.
Interesting way to spend the day, if you have time.

Murphy - I loved watching that show,
and he was very good in the main role.
Of course he couldn't have done it
without Agent 99.
They were good together.

Murphy - good one.
I forgot about Maxwell marrying
agent 99.
It doesn't surprise me he failed
spy school.
I couldn't see him torture anyone.

Big lad, my daughter nicked my M O'B tee shirt, she likes it too much that it's falling apart from wear. so 2 more needed here if anyone's coming this way, probably a petite fitting triple x for mine own.
I keep sending people to you with the promise of free beer, don't know if they ever show.
take 'er easy.

http://www.lorettochapel.com/staircase.html

Here's a good one. Many years ago in a long forgotten time, when Kings Lane was a thriving hub of commerce, namely Carville's machine shop. Among many a woodworking puzzle studied and discussed by Jim Quinn, Cyril Blakley, myself and others, was one mysterious staircase that was built with no visible means of support (much like some of the lads running around the 'Point)

I never knew the location of the stairs and had long forgotten about them until we were on a road trip of no designed destination and arrived in Santa Fe New Mexico. Sitting in a coffee shop and overhearing mention of the Loretto Chapel, went and had a look and lo and behold here rose the very staircase that was discussed those many years ago up in Kings Lane around the old pot bellied stove on a cold winters day.

The music on this video is quite nice too.

XP,
Do you mean the story about the Church, or the one about Kings Lane? Or both?
