Hi my name is catherine and my mother came from Warrenpoint. She was Sally Dinsmore and lived in Charlottw Street. I have found references to my family (hattie) on the site. We used to come over from scotland every year and stay in Forth Avenue with my uncle geordie.

Hello fawn

Thank you for your welcome. I am enjoying looking through the different sections and so far have found a few photos of my uncles and aunts, and newspaper article about my grandmother.

Welcome Katie, good to have you here. I am sure you will learn a lot about your family. Just a suggestion if I may. When you com across one of those older items, photo or whatever, post a message and that will bring up the item again and might generate some more info for you.

Again, good to have you here.
Pat

Katie24 - welcome to the Forum.
I remember your Uncle Geordie, Jimmy,
Paddy very well.
Paddy had the most magnificient singing voice
ever.
Did you ever have the pleasure of hearing
him.
Lovely family.
I don't remember your Mom, but I do remember
her sister Pat, very well.

Hello xpaddy
Nice to know you knew my uncles and my aunt. My mum left the point in 1947 although she came back every year in the summer to stay at uncle geordies. I have only heard uncle paddy sing once,it was at my fathers funeral. He still has a beautiful voice.

katie24 - When your Mom left W'point
I was only 4.
I'm sure I may have seen her on one of
her trips back.
Glad you got to hear Paddy sing.
I should let you know what the connection
is here, and how I knew them.
I am a first cousin of Dinsmore's who lived
in Clonallon Gds, on my Mother's side.
My Mother and their Mother were sisters.
Whenever Paddy would come home from being
away on a trip, he always came over to see
us.
Always beautifully tanned and immaculate, and
extremely handsome.
I can still see him.
