Thanks to the Officers and men of the station for allowing me to take these photographs. This is the annual inspection at the station, and this year was slightly different in that an exercise was added on instead of the usual drill. I was also trying to get as many pictures not using the flash as I could (in fact I only used it once) so there may be the odd blur here and there.

Nice to see the inside of it as I watched it being built all those years ago!
Never did get to see the inside, apart from the odd bit you could see when the doors
were open on practice night.

Great photos Brian.

Great photos, Brian.

Out of curiosity, are the Firemen still part-time,
and is that the reason for the exercise being
held at night.?

Really enjoyed looking at these photos of the Fire Station and the men who arm it. Firemen are very courageous people (as you only have to remember 9 11 and those poor Firemen who lost their lives).

Well done Brian for taking these photos and reminding the people of Warrenpoint that we have a Fire Station and Firemen who run it in our town.

Thanks everyone - and yes Tony the service is still retained (part time) I was just speaking to some of the men on Monday night about the changes I have seen down there in the past 30 years and not all of them good - however despite some reservations and looming cut backs they remain a great bunch of lads dedicated to the job and station and the inspection went very well.

Thanks, Brian.

Spent my early years in a little house in Meeting Street,
across from the Fire Station.

Great excitement when the Siren sounded and the Firemen
came in from all directions, some running, some on bicycles
and the odd one in a car.

Things have moved on considerably since those days, but
today's Firemen, as their predecessors did, do a great job
in the service of their Community.

They should never be taken for granted. :clapping:
