Yes xpaddy, we're having a few gorgeous days at the moment, today was actually warm!
Just looking at the photo again & noticed the hotel in Omeath - because of the perspective it looks like it's just behind the houses instead of across the water!

BTW, did I forget to mention this is another pic by Sean :D

Glad you mentioned the perspective issue B & B, I was going to and you beat me to it!!!>>>> Heres a useful explanation as to why zoom lens flattens perspective.

For some reason this does not take you to the correct page. If it asks you Did you mean: Perspective distortion (photography) click it.

That's all way above my head Richiemac, I'm strictly a "point & shoot" photographer! Perspective in art, ie painting-yes, perspective in gadgets-no! Thanks for trying though!

I have finally found out how to make friends in the Point. Cannot see how everyone is so enarmoured with this old eye sore. it has served its purpose over the past hundred years and it is time for it to depart with tears. A newer edifice is the answer. Perfect for a Mosque!!!!!!!! or a crematorium.

It most certainly will not be departing any time soon George, I can assure you of that. As they say "watch this space" :D

George - it was much more of an eyesore
before the "Save the Baths Committee"
volunteers put in a lot of time cleaning the
Baths up with their paint rollers, paint brushes
and lots of elbow grease.
I know they spent a lot of weekends
donating their time and energy to this
project.
They deserve credit for accomplishing
what they did. >:d<

I do appreciate the effort many people have put into keeping the structure in fair condition and all deserve applauds for the effort. But what benefit do the young people get from the present strructure? When I a young fellow in the Point it was a basis of entertainment, a meeting place etc
I still have my Cormorant Swim Club card. My main point is, I feel it would be great for the young people of the Point to be able to enjoy the facility the way me and my friends did sixty years ago.
I cannot see how this could be achieved unless the sturucture is demolished and re-built into a modern place of recreation - mostly swimming. Preferably a Olympic size pool. No offense implied to all the caring people who have made a teriffic effort in the maintainence of the BATHS. If the local youth are to be given an opportunity to develop into possible Olympic material then nothing less than a fifty metre pool will suffice.

We are going off topic here, I will end simply by saying that last year East coast adventure opened the baths to the public for the first time in years - this is going to continue this year and the baths will be used as much as possible by local groups and east coast adventure this year as well - plans are well under way to restore some functionality to the building in the short term and I will open another thread for discussion on the way forward.

Hi Brian, I look forward to reading the feelings of the Forum members on the "Topic". I'm typically Irish is this matter "whatever it is I'm against it". Keep the news coming Brian. Anything to do with the Point is of great interest to me.
