Didn't think it would be long before the photos appeared.......

A good turnout , a rousing few words from Geraldine to the assembled councilors and Mayor and one or two photos... ;) .Many Thanks :-):-) to all who turned out and to the Mayor and councillors for courteously receiving the huge petition.

Well done to everyone tonite went far better than i hoped for .All i want to say is we had a good nite but lets turn our minds to the open meeting and get behind it now, alot of shops and pubs are still without posters and we need some days to pass out leaflets to the public .

We have all put in alot of work in to this campaign and having a great turn out at the Townhall will shown that, which i think we will have but we have to tell people about it and not to take that they will just turn up .

About taking a back seat sometimes i guess i do as to give other people in the group a chance you'll get no one more up for the baths when it comes to it just ask Attracta i think shes sick of me going on about them LOL .
Working along with great people which im not going to call the group anymore but as friends coming together for the sake of our town, and children.
Most people in Warrenpoint will not know the time and work we have all put in so far for them .its not just the baths were saving its taking kids off the streets giving mothers somewhere to go with their kids and giving people in this town that little bit of hope that other people do care for the town we all love but could just be that little bit better.

Public Meeting 23rd September 7.30pm Everyone Welcome

I am so proud of all of you!!!! You have done a wonderful job and are a tremendous example to the rest of the Point. Each of you deserves the gratitude of so many in the Point and indeed from all of us scattered around the globe. We may be miles away but our hearts and souls belong to Warrenpoint and we care deeply about our wee town and its people.
And to those young ladies wearing the Chain of Office: Well done, ladies. You are fortunate to know and be inspired by those around you on this day at the Council. They do this for you. And it is great to see you participating as well in very active roles. The future of the Point looks like it is in good hands.

Thanks to all of you.

And Brian: thanks for making sure we all feel part of this wonderful effort.

I am so proud to be a part of this excellent and driven group. What an important role we are all playing in safeguarding the future of the Baths and indeed the future of our children and grandchildren.

The photographs are wonderful and each of them tells a part of this tale wherein our children have experienced the wearing of the chain of office and met our representatives. Many thanks to Mayor Burns for allowing them this experience, I hope they will never forget it!

I would just like to highlight this post, to say how very sorry I am,that one of the founder members of "Save our baths action group"..............May,lost her battle with breast cancer and was buried today. She is pictured 5th from the left in the first photo.I only knew her to talk to before the action group was formed, but got to know her a lot better and realised how funny she was.I will never forget her happiness when she was planning her wedding to Chris, which took place on "Mayday"(1st May) last year.My sincere condolences to all May's family and friends.......may you find the strength to see you through your pain.xxxxxxxxxx
