Does anyone know any history of the O'Loughlin Family as I am trying to do some family history to make a family tree.
I know Patrick O'Loughlin but don't know anyone else around him.` ~x(

Brian - I take it you mean the
O'Loughlin Family who used to
live on Clonallon Rd.

Harry, Packie (Nickname I have no
idea how to spell it), Arthur, another
brother I think and 2 sisters.

Would thiis be the family he is enquiring
about?

Mags, the O'Loughlins did live in Clonallon Gdns. Mc Loughlins lived at top of Charlotte Street. Check this for photo of a few of the lads (including your Louis). viewtopic.php?f=62&t=1675

Another O'Loughlin brother was Brendan.

Easy to get confused with O'Loughlin/McLoughlin not even to mention the various spellings.

St LouisGuy I'm not confused about the McLoughlin and O'Loughlins name.
I was born and lived in Charlotte Street before moving to Clermont Gds.

I've no doubt the O'Loughlins lived in Clonallan Gardens but, it could have been
after Charlotte Street. There was a lady lived with them called Bella, think
she was a relation but not sure.

The McLoughlin family Ann, Brian, Willy etc. originally lived next door to
Kathleen and Chris Cauldfield. Then moved across the road into a house next door
to my Aunt and Uncle and cousins the Wrays.

So you can see I do know the difference between O'Loughlin and McLoughlin.
It might be confusing for some people but, when you are brought up alongside them,
you never forget!

Sorry Mags. I guess 50 plus years away from the Point dulls the memory.

StLouisGuy, I accept your apology. I have been away from the Point for 54 yrs this year,
going home of course every year for a holiday when our daughter was young.
If you were to ask me about anybody who didn't live in Charlotte St. I probably wouldn't be able
to tell you anything about them!

Cheers. Coral.

Just a little correction on the number of the house where the
O'Loughlin's lived in Charlotte Street. It was number 46.
I have since been told that they moved to where xpaddy
said, after they had lived on Charlotte Street.

Hi Joe. Could you share your findings?
I'm Brendan oloughlins grandson - I'm stuck after his mum (Nora oprey) and dad Joseph as possibility both have been born in England - Nora lived with havrens when she was young too.
I know your probably concentrating more on the oloughlin side, have you found anything further back?
