This looks a bit Aboriginal to me. Just going by the marks on the wood/stone.
Could even be Dutch!!

was thinking Vancouver or wider British Columbia area...but NB's thoughts on Alps may be right also...would rule out the Netherlands though ( terrain is too high !)...may even be New Zealand ..... real tough one ~x(

Northbrook is the closest. We were just back from the Passion Play in Oberamagua and had a tour before it taking in this sculpture! Thought I had left the 'Oberamagua' clue on the photo info?

Only seeing this post now.............Oberammergau (sp victor????!) is such an amazing place....and the Passion Play such an amazing production. One of the greatest experiences of my life I have to say. First became aware of it in 1960 when one of our (normally boring!) Sunday evening speakers in boarding school spoke about the Passion Play which was performed every ten years in Bavaria, following a promise made by the villagers in the 1600s that they they would perform the passion play every ten years if their village was spared the multiple deaths of the bubonic plague. Finally got there twenty years later in 1980.........what an experience..........the German translation of the dialogue seemed unneccessary as obviously everyone knew the story............I have to say the celebration of Holy Communion afterwards in a little Lutheran Chapel with the backdrop of Oberammergau mountain was one of the most moving experiences of my life. Beautiful part of the world..............Oberammergau mountain which is a backdrop to where the passion play stage is performed, is where the Messerschmitt factory was, during WW11. Been back since to vsit friends, but regret not seeing this year's performance......hopefully still be around in 2020 though I might have a Zimmer frame by that stage!!

Incredible experience Greengrass. I understand they may well be preforming the play again in 2013, because it is a special anniversary. Certainly worth a visit. We visited the Lutheran church you attended but not a service.
