Hi everybody, I've been asking about the photo of Bertha McCoy and didn't notice my big sister over her left shoulder. How dumb is that! Anyone know who Bertha's companions are?

liz - I am like Northbrook I didn't think the unknown
one was positively identified. Is it a McCoy?
I'm sure I don't know you lowflier, but am eagerly
awaiting for you to be identified.
I am enjoying this post. :D

Definitely not one and the same. I believe the unknown bandsman is Frank (Frankie) Irvine who liven on the Burren Road next door to Liz's grandparents and a couple of doors from me, When he married he moved to Rathfriland and had a shoe shop there. SECOND THOUGHTS - NO IT'S NOT - HE WAS THE BAND LEADER!! Engage brain before opening mouth. :') Maybe Alan Tate?

Pauline, Frankie had a brother called Billy whom I have played bowls with often, he also conducted Rathfriland Silver; I think he may be the unknown player , but again not certain about any of this, it`s a long time ago ......................................................

Hi Liz, I've been thinking about a Mc Coy connection - there is an older brother of that clan, I think his name is Leonard. I have no idea what he looks like as he was a lot older than me but is there a resemblance? ;--)
