You got it HCTC !!! :D :D Sean would have been about 2 years old here, Mum had him run out to hold Teddy McNeils hand while my Dad took the photo.

Our Sean "emigrated" to Killowen about 10 years ago :rotfl: ... but still makes regular trips into the 'Point to meet up with two other former barmen from The Marine at the Whistledown on a regular basis..

Apologies for hijacking this post.... now, back on topic everyone :D
Hugh, Did Dominic Heatley not have his shop in what is now Jam interiors..
The computer garage was Bridget Carvilles when I was growing up and long after. Then
Haverns and still Haverns. I think he was further up the street. I remember he had a shoe
shop there........
Yes Deirdre. You are right. Domnic Heatley's shop was next door to where Bridget Carville
had her place, which was on the corner of the lane. Domnic's was the second shop after the
lane, going toward the Alexandra. Cowans lived over it. I've noticed elsewhere on the site
that Dukestreet reckons his relation, Domnic Heatley, who emigrated to Canada, had a shoe
repairing emporium where the computer garage is now. This is not correct. You've got it
right.

HOW DID WE GET TO THIS? ARE WE ON A BAND THREAD?

I think it is some thing to do with the music they are going to play and i,am sure the conductors of this top class band know what they are doing. we lead others follow and go back to bases :rotfl:

Sorry, can`t really make a comment, as I wasn`t involved at that particular time, probably something to do with the number of players available, basses to the rear is not uncommon, most American Army bands have that formation, although I must say I prefer side drums, basses and trombones to the fore.........................

Perhaps they just lost their bearings a little. 'Tis hard to see over the top of those big bells. Either that or Dessie McC wanted to know what it was like to walk at the back :getmecoat:
