Lowflier - No Kathleen and Bobby live in Warrenpoint.
Bobby was in Canada for 5 months in 1978, but I think
it was a busy lifestyle for him to get used to.
He has been back a few times since then, and of course
I go back there to see them. :--)

Hi lowflier. Albert i knew you would never stick the heat of Ballyclare and it was only a matter of time before you moved to somewhere "cool" like Cyprus. If you ever come accross an old acquaintance of mine called Jimmy Carroll say Hi to him for me, i don't know if he is still out there. Have you looked in the section on this Forum called "Down Memory Lane" and scrolled down to the thread called June 1953 you will see yourself and the rest of us hoods down at the Dock Wall. I only go down about three times a year to visit Jean and Robert[he was 83 last Friday]. I tried the dying thing myself in 2007[the usual Wilson thing-heart attack] but the wife was too quick for me and called an ambulance and i wound up 7 weeks in the Ulster Hospital before i was moved to the RVH for three weeks and a triple bypass. Maybe i'll have better luck next time. Talk to you soon again.

Hi,
Going back to the first photo of Warrenpoint Silver Band. That is, the one with the alphabet used to identify each member.
Beside the letter "U" it shows John Cunningham, in actual fact it is my father, Willie McGuffin. He usually played side drum but I do recall him telling me that on occasion he had played the "big drum" too.
Good pix, all of them.
Thanks,
Colin McGuffin

I had another look at that myself and agree one hundred per cent, although John Cunningham did play Bass Drum occasionally.............it`s interesting to see my old neighbour Jack Brown (W) standing beside your father.......Jack was to go on and become the regular Bass Drummer in the band for many years, and a good one at that ...........................

HI Uncle Albert - good to hear that you are alive and kicking in Cyprus. Perhaps will call over to see you some of these days.

All - I was the first female member of Warrenpoint Silver Band in 1973. I would love a photograph of me in the band if anyone has any as I am writing a book?

Hi Karnen

Nice to hear from you but less of the uncle !!!!
Really sorry but I have no band photographs when you
were in it. I have plenty of photos before I had left the band
in 1968 but no photos since then.
Look forward to reading your book and maybe seeing you here sometime.

I spotted an old photo of the flute band on the Silver bands own website, that reminded me that I had a copy here that I never posted

I don't have any names (yet) so if any of you can help please do :D

You can see a few more (some already posted here) at the bands website here:

I have this photo which I'm pretty sure I downloaded from here - I've never been on the Silver band's own site.
