Train Station Model on display during festival

#1 Post by Brian » Tue Jul 14, 2015 11:03 am

I'm sure some of you will remember a discussion we had many years ago about building a model of the railway station, well local man Cathal O'Hara has done just that! You may also have seen a few posters about town that mentioned it as well. I'm looking forward to seeing it and hope as many of as possible will visit as well.

While I have memories of the train station,I don't remember a lot about the layout, but I am really looking forward to seeing this display during the festival.

Always thought removing the tracks from Newry to the Point was a mistake. It was a picturesque trip - even with all the smoke belching from the engines. Imagine an electric train train running the distance now. It would be a great day trip for visitors and children.
