The first photo is the old boat house on the beach near the Foresters and the second has the Frontier Hotel in the back ground.

Just looking back on some old photos and I really like this one because we would have used that section of beach in the late 60's.We used to swim between the set of steps in the picture and the ones in front of Lawless's shop.At Hallowe'en,John Begg would have a party in the Osborne Hotel for the members of the Cormorant swimming club, and set off fireworks from the wall above where the changing huts are.I know my memories are not from the same era the picture was taken, but I am sure a lot of people have different memories of that stretch of beach...........maybe some even have memories from the carpark that replaced the beach. :D

Nice that you brought this up again, Joanne.

First time I have seen this, never knew that
sort of structure was there.

Same here. Anyone have an idea when this may have been taken?

Never knew these existed either.
I never did swim at that end of the
Beach, always Sandy Bottom.
Why there were never change rooms there,
I'll never know.
Wonder when they were taken down.
I must ask Kathleen, maybe she might know.

I remember two big hooks on that wall, must have been left over when bathing huts were removed, and one of the brothers tore the knee off himself climbing up the wall!!!
(One of a few occasions when that particular brother tore the knee off himself)!!!
