45 years ago Brian........1971!
I was watching "Pop goes Northern Ireland" the other night, and hearing the music from 1971 brought back so many memories of a time when Pat McGivern RIP from East St was my best friend, and we seemed to have the most fantastic summers. The one thing that struck me was that I don't have one photo from that era. Then I remembered that two French students stayed in McGiverns that year and photos were taken on a trip to Cloughmore.I met Pat's sister Ann today and we got talking(as you do).......and she arrived at my door with these photos tonight >:d< .I am sure when The Gap comes on he will recognise everyone.

Not a clue who the big fella is in the first Photo, The boy next to him is John Mc Givern. John is also in the second photo with Aide O Hare. Many a happy day we had in O Hare,s garage, I remember the the french girl.

I remember one summer Aide and Happy got sunburn-stroke and landed in bed for afew days and as usual Mickey, Peter and myself arrived down to visit,Mrs O Hare (lovely lady) let us up stairs to see the lads, with the warning just a short visit and cause no havoc.Aide asked for the window to be opened for a bit of fresh air, Mickey opens the window and walking past in the middle of summer with the big red and black Down scarf on is Ned McCann, so Mickey shouts up Galway, Armagh etc all hell breaks out with Ned shouting fn and bs as Mrs O Hare was in the garden she got it full blast, in she comes kicks us all out of the house,no one would say who shouted at Ned. A few days later Aide was telling me she demanded to know who shouted at Ned after we left. Aide and Happy said it was Mickey, the reply from the mother was priceless, I thought it was the Rogan fella, he is banned for a month,Art Gallagher has manners and would never annoy people like that. :rotfl:
