Yes btq,it is Joan McGivern RIP.I have been looking through the Panto section and don't see any other pictures of her.....I could be wrong though :D
For anyone who hasn't heard Joan's name mentioned before, she was a sister of Sr Dolorosa,Fr Eamonn and Freda's.I know she died very young..........maybe Northbrook could give more details.

Sorry Joanne only seeing this one now..........yes Joan was young when she died , her late twenties I think, a very good friend of Aveen, they got to the final of `Here`s Your Chance` a talent contest run by the BBC in the mid fifties, they got through to the final which was adjudicated by Laurel and Hardy, they didn`t win, but they got a few broadcasts out of it, a big thing in those days ....................................

The late Joan McGivern was a music teacher on the staff of St. Josephs Sec. Intermediate School on the Armagh Road in Newry.
She was a very, very attractive girl, and a very pleasant person, I remember she had our class singing 'Wooden Heart' long before Elvis Presley had a major hit with it. It was an old German folk song.
Some days she would travel home on the bus with us, and she was always good craic.
If the truth be told a lot of those lads on that bus had 'a wee notion' of her, in a very innocent kind of way.
She passed away in 1963, far to early.

Nb you mentioned Bertram Jones in the previous post, could you tell me anything about that distinguished gentleman.
