I had a few emails asking about the photographs on the oldwarrenpoint.com website, so I decided to post them all in here. Older members will have seen these before, but there might be a few that slipped though unnoticed :D I have thumb-nailed them as there are quite a lot of them, simply click on each picture to enlarge (some browsers will resize the photo, try clicking again once the picture has loaded for the full size version)

Brian - Gallery 2 pictures the one of the Convent and the girls playing
outside would you know what year that was. They look like the
"gym slips" we used to wear, wonder if it's in the early 50's. ;--)

Hi, Lovely to see the photos of Warrenpoint. My mum was born in Harbour House now demolished but featured in a couple of the photos. She was born there in 1929,Margaret Poyntz and used to tell me how her older brothers could jump to swim in the sea from the house...probably an exageration. Unfortunately mum and all her siblings are dead but she would have loved all the old photos. I am in England but I do still have family in Co Down. Thanks

Hi lizbrandondaphne.............welcome to the forum, it's a great place! I've just spent the past half hour going through these photos yet again, aren't they super? Haven't looked at them for ages and each time I seem to find some I think I haven't seen before!

Thanks Brian for making it so easy to view this priceless collection of pics.

Hello,
What a lovely collection of pictures .It was good to see the past and present day and how people used to live. I wondered if you know who the men and the young boy are and where it was taken in the picture in Gallery 2 ?.
Regards
Kathleen

Fantastic. The one of "Duke Street" in Gallery 1 clearly shows R. McGuffin & Sons Boot and Shoe Merchant on the right, at 1 Church Street (corner of Duke and Church).

Hi Shawn

If you look in Gallery 1 Picture No. 10 of the opening of the Swimming Baths you will see my Great Grandfather William McGuffin in the back row 3rd from the left.
