The Fair Day (another close-up)

#1 Post by Brian » Fri Apr 29, 2016 7:57 am

From the National Library of Ireland's collection

This photo has been shown before, both as a postcard and a decent close up version, however this time the resolution has been increased slightly and enables us to pick out more little details. Remember as this is one of the fair days, most of the people here will be local farmers and shoppers (but with a considerable number of day trippers) so you may be looking a relative and not know it! Tiny details like the man with the stick turns out to be selling buttons and other jewellery (possibly rosary beads?) and the chap beside one of the policemen is wearing a Tramway hat. other details you can pick out for yourselves :D
