Great photo greenrooster, haven't seen it before. All the men in their jackets and ties! Love the Christmas fairy being held up at the back!

I think that's John Murphy holding the fairy over Hugh Carr's head, and Jimmy Magee in front of Teddy Mc Neill.

Jacky Kennedy back left. Think that's one of the Irvins back right in front of Teddy McNeill.

That is Mickey 'Scouse' Gallagher, he was originally from Liverpool, hence the nickname.I think he was here during the war, in the Army/RAF, and married a Rostrevor girl and settled in the village.
This man was a very friendly amicable guy, but he had a language all of his own. When he got excited, you would have needed an interpreter to communicate with him. I am not sure if he was a Liverpool or an Everton supporter, but whichever it was he would go ballistic when they won.
His son has a business making and erecting garden sheds and garden furniture up the Newtown Road.

great snap greenrooster :--) know all in the photo bar mickey Gallagher thanks Dukestreet. John Rooney he was a class man full of crack i can recall one day in the factory John (driving the forklift) reversing out from a load and crash stright into a pole John turned round and shouted "Who put that there " :rotfl: :rotfl: might not seem funny to all but you would need to of been there to see it. As greenrooster would agree when John and his mate Nipper got together it was class crack :--)

I tried contacting the son but phone number is no longer listed, has anybody got a recent number for this business. Is this the same Gallagher that lived in St Colemans Gdns?
