very evocative! Jars from wall to wall ! Loved going in there for quarters of this and that and flying saucers.

I've managed to 'walk off' over 1 1/2 stone this past few weeks ....that picture is in danger of making me put it all back on again ! :rotfl: I can almost hear the bell ringing as I open the door of that shop...and smell the aroma of so many wonderful sweets.

Mortons Sweet shop was owned by my Aunt and Uncle and i spent all my childhood holidays there. Warrenpoint was a lovely place and i always remember the funfair in the square. It was a closeknit community and i loved helping out in the shop and meeting everyone. Love the picture of Auntie Grace. Miss her so much.

Lucky you, Cath. I used to dream about living in a sweet shop - I guess having an aunt and uncle with one would come a close second! I'm sure I would have seen you there at some stage considering we spent so much time popping in and out, as we only lived nearby on Seaview.

Just bringing this back up as the child in the photo above with Grace Morton is Kathryn Hogg from Pinewood Hill in Warrenpoint (not 100% on the spelling there let me know if it needs corrected) :D

The people in that Shop
before Morton's
were Shaw's.

Can't remember much
about the family..

Brian's mum might know
a little more..
