I have never noticed/seen these buildings in any photo before and while this photo has been around for a while, when I spotted it again on the National Library's page I was only going to zoom in on the couple of people in it, and then I spotted the buildings behind the tree's on the far side.

I was wondering what they were thinking maybe a double exposure or other fault and then remembered that old lenses have a habit of pulling background details further into the shot than you would expect and think in this case these are in fact the corn mill buildings that would have stood just at the side of the road in the Hall estate marked on the Griffths map below.

I think I am right in this case as the buildings match up to the map and viewing angle of the photo - an open and shut case methinks :D (unless somebody knows otherwise?)

I believe you are right, Brian. Those buildings do look like Corn mill buildings in a Google or Bing search. (not these buildings, similar ones)
And Jackie Crawford, in an article, about the railway from Newry to Warrenpoint and planned for Rostrevor, mentions the buildings at that location. Item was posted by Dukestreet.

And as so often happens on the forum we found a map of that very railway and I have added it to that thread
