when you look at these pictures it's only then you realise how much the park has changed

and maybe not for the better

Your first photo is very interesting, eddie, as it's by far the earliest I have ever seen of the Park. You can see the foundations for the bandstand, and the bay trees are just young saplings. First class!!

If you are referring to that wall to the left of the picture, I think possibly that wall is still there, forming the boundary between the former pavillion / Star of the Sea School and the area of land where two large houses now stand in Prince's Street. Fascinating picture indeed and no need for any CCTV or neighbourhood watch in those days !
