Brian - Do you know what year this
was taken.
Don seems to think whenever he was
swimming there, that the ledge was
much wider.
I don't think it was.

Hi XP, Don has a good eye I believe it was wider when I was swimming - it was an eye sore then and still is. Would be nice a new ultra_modern facility.

I can remember the wall being widened at the same time as the changing boxed were removed from the centre of the pool the year would be around the late 1940's. Studying the picture I think it must be in the 1920's or earlier two reasons the way down to the beach shows steps I only ever remember a slope also there are no electricity poles

It's between about 1908 and 1914 - the postcard was made from a photo taken from the Lawrence collection in the National Library of Ireland, and they stopped in 1914 and as the baths opened in 1907 it's about then. I'd hazard a guess and say 1910 as there were a few other photos taken that year and I would assume the photographer did them all around the same time.

Thank you all for your input.
I was sure it was much later on
than that.
Kinnard thought it looked strange as
well, that there was no slant there.
