were removed from the Bandstand?

If my memory serves me right it was around 1974-75 iam sure they stored them in the big shelter for a time. like the gate never to be seen again ;--)

They were removed for "safety" reasons, supposed to be refurbished and then never put back. But, they are one of the things I made sure were mentioned at the meetings that are to go back during the refurbishments. On that note I have permission to report on the progress of the heritage application as it goes along and will be doing that soon.

First card is looking towards Warrenpoint from Rostrevor and the beach postcard says "Warrenpoint from bathing place"

Brian, glad to hear you highlighted the need to
replace the screens.
Quite a wind blows through the Bandstand at times.
It will be good to see it restored to the original.

Look forward to seeing your reports on progress.

do u remember the old steps i see them in the photo of the bandstand ,they put new ugly steps, the reason i heard it was for health and safely . It was a great shame
