I remember 2 a.m. was late.

Couldn't imagine being out to
4.am for dances.

Love The 'Programme of Dances'.......... Slow foxtrot, married couples......Paul Jones......Mixed Excuse Me.......I remember my dear dad running dances on Boxing Night in our church hall in Drogheda (I wasn't allowed say Boxing Night, it was St. Stephen's Night!). These dances were all part of it.....and the music was lovely.....you could listen to it, dance to it and still have a conversation. There was an elegance about the quickstep and the waltz and all the other ballroom dances. Of course 'The Bachelors' was THE social event of the year in the Newry area...even in the sixties and seventies.....I sometimes envy the younger generation for lots of reasons, but sometimes I feel sorry for them because.....well because they'll never have the memories that we (us?) older folk have of those wonderful days.....
