First came across this plant in the
Biodomes at the Eden Project in
Cornwall....not quite as big as the
plant shown above.

Also in a couple of Gardens in the
south of Ireland...again not as big.

Sorry Brian, you will have to forego your rhubarb crumbles !!!
The photos shown relate to a weed...called Common burdock (Wild Rhubarb)
It is not advisable to eat Common burdock and it should be considered toxic due to its potential diuretic effects when consumed. There is a difference between garden rhubarb and wild rhubarb.
