Don't worry....there are no reports of any recent activity on Carlingford lough !
I came across this site and apparently the U Boats would not have been very far from this area. ..well at least not that far away in the Irish Sea ....

Ironically after the war ended some 116 U-Boats were scuttled in the Irish Sea too under the Allies' Operation Deadlight (see http://www.uboat.net/fates/deadlight_hist.htm )
