This is better news Brian .. do you think the two proposed projects can be facilitated [ i.e. Bridge and Relief Road] or would it be one or the other if only so much funding was being made available/is funding arriving via the same source/would the southern Government be expected to make any contribution to Relief Road or do you think the Bridge would be their preferred project of choice ?.Given the alarming miscalculation at tender last time out, would you have a realistic idea as to the amount that would be required in order to bring the Bridge Project to full and final fruition ?

I'm not up on the finances or who is funding what but the possibility of the two merging was "option 5" at one time but was then deemed to be too late for the funding application currently being put together for the relief road. Work continues behind the scenes however and further information will be made available in the near future :D

Typical political ploy. Speak about the project, blame everyone but themselves and take no action. Keep your swim suits you will probably swim across the Narrows a thousand times before thethe Lord moves the politicans to act. A bridge would be great.

Let's get things in perspective, the total cost
of this Project is likely to be less than that
splashed out for Di Maria by Man. United.

No doubt the cost factor will be used as a
bouncing ball by the various Politicians, but,
at the end of the day, it is all about Political
will.

If the will is there, the money can be found.

good points all..as a dyed in the wool Evertonian I am sure Jim Boylan believes the Bridge will achieve more goals for people both local and beyond than Di Maria ever will for United !!

Being a life long supporter of the Red side
of Liverpool, I won't hold anything against
Jim, and wish him and his colleagues every
success in this long running saga.
